تقييم المخاطر  Risk Assessment

منهجية تُستخدم لمراجعة الخطر، وكيف يمكن أن يتسبب في أذى، ولتحديد احتمال حدوث وشدة ذلك الأذى.
في مجال حماية الطفل، تتمّ الاستعانة بتقييم المخاطر لتحديد طبيعة ونطاق المخاطر من خلال الأخذ في الاعتبار الأخطار المحتملة، وكذلك الظروف الموجودة لناحية قابلية التعرض للأذى، التي قد تتسبب معًا في الأذى للأطفال والعائلات. ويجب أن تأخذ عملية تقييم المخاطر في مجال حماية الطفل في الاعتبار أيضاً سلامة وحماية الطفل والعائلة والمجتمع المحلي، وقدرتهم على المقاومة أو التعافي

A methodology is used to review the risk, how it might cause harm, and to determine the likelihood and severity of that harm. In the field of child protection, risk assessment is used to determine the nature and extent of risks by taking into consideration potential hazards, as well as existing conditions of vulnerability, which together may cause harm to children and families. The risk assessment process in child protection must also take into account the safety and protection of the child, the family, and the community, and their ability to resist or recover.
