تضارب المصالح Conflict of Interest

مفهوم يُراد به توصيف الموقف الذي تكون فيه للفرد أو للجماعة مصلحتان أو مسؤوليتان مُتعارضتان، فيجبرهم مثل هذا الموقف على اتخاذ قرارات لصالح أحد الطرفين دون الآخر، بما يتعارض مع مسؤوليات المنصب وأخلاقياته. مثال ذلك أن يكون الشخص مسؤولاً عن اتخاذ قرار بعوائد أو منافع ماديّة له أو لأحد أقاربه، فيُفسد مثل الأمر حياديته المُفترضة أثناء اتخاذ القرار.

A concept intended to describe a situation in which an individual or a group has two conflicting interests or responsibilities, and such a situation forces them to make decisions in the interest of one party without the other, in contravention of the position’s responsibilities and ethics. For example, for a person to be responsible for making a decision with financial returns or benefits for him or for one of his relatives, and this matter spoils his supposed impartiality during the decision-making.
