التمكين Empowerment

إعطاء الفُرصة لأشخاص/ مجموعات للمُساهمة في عمليّة صنع القرار، وذلك من خلال وضعهم في دائرة المعرفة، وتقديم الدعم اللازم لهم لكي يكونوا جُزء من الحل. يتحقّق التّمكين بأكثر من أُسلوب، فمن المُمكن أن يكون بإيعاز من الوسيط بين طرفين مُتساويين تقريباً في القوّة والنّفوذ؛ وذلك بأن يتنازل كُل طرف عن جُزء من مطالبه في سبيل الوصول إلى تسوية مقبولة للنزاع. ومن المُمكن أيضاً أن يأتي بصورة هرميّة، عن طريق السُّلطات الحاكمة تجاه قطاعات مُعيّنة في المجتمع كالشّباب على سبيل المثال؛ وذلك بأن يُشركوهم في دائرة صُنع القرار من خلال تمكينهم من الوصول إلى المناصب القياديّة بالدولة.

Empowerment is achieved in more than one way. It can be at the instigation of a mediator between two parties of approximately equal power and influence; This is for each party to waive part of its claims in order to reach an acceptable settlement of the dispute. It can also come in a hierarchical manner, through the ruling authorities towards certain sectors of society, such as the youth; By involving them in the decision-making circle by enabling them to reach leadership positions in the state.
